Ingredients for Roasted Green Beans

The ingredient list is short and sweet for these green beans. Here’s what you will need:

  • Fresh green beans
  • Olive oil
  • Kosher salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder

How to Make Easy Roasted Green Beans

Start by cutting off the ends of the green beans. You don’t even technically have to do this part but I prefer them trimmed.

I like to line them up on the cutting board and trim a bunch at once to save on time.

Place the green beans on a rimmed baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and garlic powder.

Toss well with a spatula or your hands then shake the pan so that the green beans are in a single layer. Now it’s time to bake.

How Long to Bake Green Beans?

I like to bake fresh green beans for 20 minutes. After 15 minutes, shake the pan to ensure the second side becomes golden.

I like the caramelization the green beans get when roasted at a high temperature. It helps bring out the sweetness of the green beans.

Seasoning and Serving Options

If you want to change up the seasoning in this baked green beans recipe to coordinate with your meal there are lots of options.

If you’re having Mexican food, add some cumin and chili powder to the seasoning mix.

Italian? Add some basil, oregano or your favorite Italian seasoning. Sprinkle on some fresh shredded parmesan after baking.

Toss in some lemon pepper to go with your favorite grilled meats. Or even toss in some fresh lemon zest after roasting for some major springtime vibes.

As you can see, the options are endless.
