I’m a big fan of happy hour at Sonic. My order? Always a strawberry limeade. They are so dang refreshing and delicious.
We don’t go often but I find myself craving them all the time, especially during the warm summer months. So instead of running out to grab one I decided to make my own at home.
Let me start out by telling you this recipe tastes like a real deal Sonic strawberry limeade. Seriously, I don’t think I would have been able to tell the difference if we did a side by side tasting. The true mark of a successful copycat recipe.
You only need a handful of ingredients to make a batch of these for your friends or family. Store-bought limeade, frozen strawberries and lemon lime soda and ice (preferably of the pebble variety). If you want to get fancy, grab some strawberries and limes for garnish.
The frozen strawberries are blended then stirred into the limeade. Then that goodness gets topped off with lemon lime soda for that necessary bubbly carbonation.
This recipe makes a big pitcher’s worth of strawberry limeades so they are perfect for summertime parties, barbecues, girls nights and picnics.
Let’s talk ice for these Sonic Strawberry Limeades. I think it’s kind of necessary to have the pebble ice. I tried them with regular cubes and it just wasn’t the same. I’m a big weirdo about my ice.
I’ve had my eye on a pebble ice maker for SO long but just can’t justify that price. So in the meantime, I actually DID go through the Sonic drive thru….for the pebble ice. Did you know you can buy a bag of their ice?! Total game changer.
Whether or not you have the pebble ice, you will totally think you are sipping on a Sonic Strawberry Limeade with this seriously delicious dupe.
