With hot weather finally upon us, I’m all about big summer salads. And the dressing is super important when it comes to salad.

This Avocado Lime Ranch is my new favorite and my official dressing of summer. It’s super bright and refreshing. Just so good.

A Delicious Copycat

This dressing was inspired by Chick-fil-A’s avocado lime ranch. It’s my favorite dressing there and since we’ve been eating out less I decided I needed to create my own at home.

It really does taste like what you get at the restaurant. And turns out it’s very easy to make at home with just a few simple ingredients.

Required Ingredients

You only need 5 ingredients to make this dressing. FIVE! Here’s what you need to grab at the store:

  • Avocado
  • Lime
  • Ranch dressing packet
  • Mayo
  • Buttermilk

To pack an extra lime punch we’re using the lime zest and the lime juice in the dressing.

I recommend using full fat mayo in this recipe to keep it extra creamy and flavorful.

How to Make Avocado Lime Ranch

The process of making the dressing is just as easy as the ingredient list. All you have to do is put the ingredients in a food processor or blender and buzz it until smooth.

Because of the lime juice in the dressing, it’s stays bright green and vibrant for days and days in the refrigerator.

So Much Bright Flavor

Friends, this dressing is packed with so much brightness and zing. Like I said above, this avocado lime ranch contains both the zest and the juice from a fresh lime so there is so much delicious citrus going on.

The buttermilk adds a yummy tanginess to the dressing as well which always pairs really nicely with ranch.

The sweet, creamy avocodo paired with the bright lime is just so perfect for summer salads. And when combined with a ranch packet that brings all the garlicky, dill goodness?! It just can’t be beat.

  1. Can this recipe be split into ice cube size servings and be frozen?

    1. I wouldn’t recommend freezing this. Because it contains buttermilk, it would separate in the freezer and become chunky.
