It’s time for April’s edition of Let’s Catch Up. I’m sharing some favorites, a little DIY thought, this month’s most popular post and a little wrap up of our trip to NYC last month.

Hey friends! This month has been a little busier than normal with Easter and sports starting up so I don’t have as much to share with you this time around.
I’ve been transitioning our household to using less and less chemicals and products with ingredients that aren’t great for our bodies throughout the years and one item I haven’t really done much about is body wash.
I’m sure there are a lot of great options out there but for some reason I really want to try making my own body wash. I like crafty projects and I have gathered quite a collection of essential oils over the past year so I feel like it would be fun to play around with scents. And the ability to make something with my favorite smells is appealing too.
Have any of you made your own body wash? I found a few “recipes” on Pinterest I’m considering but not sure which one is the best. Let me know if you have any advice or experience in the comments below. Or if you have a good, natural body wash you buy tell me that too please.
I’m thinking these bottles would be great for storing them too.
Fun Travel Companion
My parents gave me this Travel Listography book for Christmas and it’s so fun! I am a major list maker and love to travel so I feel like it was made just for me.
It contains lists for places you want to visit on each continent, favorite vacation memories, beaches and oceans you’ve visited and hope to visit and more. I love that you can document the places and experiences you’ve had and also dream about your future travel and adventures.
If you have a travel-loving person in your life this would make a great gift. But just to warn you, it will give you major wanderlust.
Most Popular Post
Speaking of travel, this month’s most popular post has been my St. Louis Eats write up of all our favorite restaurants from our trip to St. Louis a few years ago. We must all have the travel bug right now.
I love writing posts like these so I’ve been happy to see that you guys are liking it too. Let me know in the comments if you would like to see more travel-inspired posts.
I totally didn’t mean to make this month’s Let’s Catch Up post almost all about travel but I guess it’s acceptable with the warming weather and summer vacation coming up super soon.
I just wanted to share some favorite photos and moments from our trip to NYC last month. We did ALL the touristy things and enjoyed it thoroughly. I’ll list them here as quickly as I can and if you have any questions about specific places, drop a comment below.
The 9/11 Memorial Museum is a must and make sure to give yourself about half a day. We did the guided tour which I definitely recommend because it explained SO much of the museum and gave lots of insight we wouldn’t have known otherwise. There’s tons to look at after the tour as well.
We also went to the top of the Freedom Tower and the views of the city were incredible.
HAMILTON. It was everything I dreamed it would be and I’m so glad we decided to go.
Bucket list item: The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. I was pretty bummed that we weren’t able to go to the crown. Tickets apparently sell out MONTHS in advance so if you’re planning a trip make sure to grab tickets way early (especially if you’re visiting in the summer from what I’ve read).
We also toured the United Nations, went to the Museum of Natural History, Chelsea Market and walked around Central Park. There were a few things we didn’t have time for on our list but we managed to pack every minute of our 3 1/2 day getaway.
