Party Popcorn

The kids and I are absolutely obsessed with popcorn. It’s our go to snack and a must have for movie night. While we usually just go with simple air popped drizzled with a little butter and sprinkled with salt, sometimes we like to mix it up and get a little crazy.

I’m usually more of a savory kind of girl but the kids both have a major sweet tooth so that’s the direction we went with this time around. They obviously will never turn down chocolate so when I suggested white chocolate popcorn with dark chocolate ribbons, mini M&M’s and sprinkles I’m betting you can guess the reaction.

And Party Popcorn was born.

This popcorn only takes about 15 minutes from start to finish but it looks like you bought it from a fancy gourmet popcorn shop. Have you ever been to one of those places? I’m pretty much like, take all my money. I want all the kinds of popcorn. There is one just blocks from my house. Dangerous. But who needs them when I can make it myself, right?

First, air pop some popcorn (or go old school in a pot on the stovetop). While it’s popping, melt the white chocolate in the microwave until just melted. Toss them together until the popcorn is completely coated then lay on a parchment lined baking sheet and put it in the freezer for a couple minutes to set up. You could also let it harden on the counter if you are a more patient person.

Drizzle it with melted dark chocolate then load it up with mini M&M’s and sprinkles. Pop it in the freezer again just until it sets then break it into chunks and devour it.
