Ingredients
1pound strawberries
3Tablespoonsgranulated sugar, divided
1cup heavy cream
1/2teaspoon vanilla extract
5glazed donuts
Instructions
Cut off strawberry tops then place flat side on your cutting board. Cut into slices. Place sliced strawberries in a bowl. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar. Stir well. Set aside for 30 minutes. Place a large bowl in the freezer (for making the whipped cream later).
When you have about 5 minutes left for the strawberries, grab the bowl out of the freezer. Add the heavy cream, remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar and vanilla in the bowl. Using a hand mixer, whip until stiff peaks form.
Slice the donuts in half. Top the bottom halves evenly with the strawberries. Top each with a hearty dollop of whipped cream. Add tops of donuts on top and serve immediately.
