Instant Pot Apple Crisp

Instant Pot Apple Crisp is the perfect way to celebrate fall. Only 5 minutes to cook in the Instant Pot. Check out my guide to the Best Apples for Baking.

The Instant Pot isn’t just for dinner friends. With fall right around the corner you’re going to need this super simple Instant Pot Apple Crisp in your life.

If you thought the Instant Pot was just for savory recipes, you were so so wrong. Apple crisp should forever and always be cooked in a pressure cooker. THE END.

Let’s see if this recipe is for you:

•You love all the warm flavors

•You want hot, homemade dessert in less than 30 minutes

•You love all the textures in your dessert

•You inhale apples like your life depends on it when fall rolls around

If you fit into any or all of those categories (like who isn’t #2?) this is the dessert for you.

It’s a warm, hearty, so much sweet-tart apple-y cinnamon goodness your head might explode kind of dessert and I’m here for it.

This whole apple crisp situation is ridiculously simple and takes mere minutes to prepare and get cooking in the Instant Pot.

The most time-consuming part of this recipe? Chopping 4 apples into wedges. They don’t even need to be peeled (unless you have a dislike of apple peels then do your thing).

One big, important aspect of this recipe is the thickness of your apple slices. Don’t cut them any thinner than ½-inch. My first test of the recipe they were way to thin and it literally turned into applesauce with a crisp topping. Still good but definitely not the desired end result.

The crisp is equally simple to throw together with pantry staples. While the butter is melting, measure out your remaining ingredients then stir them all together until combined and sprinkle over the apples in the Instant Pot. That’s it.

The end result is a delicious crumble topping over soft (but not too soft) apples.

Remember that best apples for baking guide I shared on Monday? Well, it was all in preparation for this apple crisp.

I had all those apples at home screaming to be made into something magical, so I used a mix of honeycrisp and granny smiths for this recipe because they are my top personal favorites when it comes to baking. You can check out the guide to see which apple would suit your tastes most. You really can’t go wrong with any of them.

So if you have a craving for warm, fall flavors and 30 minutes, this is the dessert you need.

Top it with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and you’re good to go.
