Seasoned Saltine Crackers
Seasoned Saltine Crackers are wonderful as a snack or a dipper for all the soups this winter. Tossed in oil, spices and herbs then baked to crispy perfection.
Servings 32 servings (5 crackers/serving)
- 1 1/4 cups canola oil
- 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp. onion powder
- 1 Tbsp. dill weed
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1 lb. box saltine crackers
In a bowl, whisk together oil, garlic powder, onion powder, dill, cayenne pepper and black pepper. Set aside.
Open all the crackers. Divide evenly between two large ziplock bags. Pour the oil evenly between the two bags. Remove excess air from the bags and seal. Turn bags in different directions, making sure all the crackers are coated. Let sit overnight to soak up the oil and seasonings.
Preheat oven to 275 degrees F. Lay crackers in a single layer on rimmed baking sheets. Bake for 15 minutes, until golden and crispy.
