It's football season and that means we need all the delicious party food. Start the game off right with these Cheesy Pulled Pork Sliders. Slow cooker pulled pork, barbecue sauce and a rich, cheesy sauce all loaded atop a soft, pillowy Rhodes Warm-N-Serv roll.
Place the pork in your slow cooker. Sprinkle evenly with 2 teaspoons kosher salt, 1 1/2 teaspoons pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. Add water to the bottom of the slow cooker. Cook on high for 4 hours.
Shred the pork and stir in the barbecue sauce leaving the liquid from the pork in the slow cooker. Cook another hour on high.
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Bake the rolls for 11 to 13 minutes.
While the rolls are baking make the cheese sauce. Heat a saucepan over medium heat. Melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Whisk in the milk in two increments, letting it thicken between additions. Once the sauce has thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon turn off the heat. Whisk in the shredded cheese until smooth.
To assemble: slice rolls in half. Pile with a hearty portion of pulled pork. Spoon on desired amount of cheese. Top with top half of roll and enjoy. Serve with more cheese sauce on the side for dipping if desire.
