Sweet and salty snacks are elite in my book. This combination of ingredients creates the yummiest snack that comes together in minutes.

It’s great for hikes, girls night, movie night and after school snacking. I really can’t think of a bad time for this trail mix.

Ingredients for Peanut Butter Trail Mix

Here’s what you are going to need to make this trail mix:

  • Peanut butter filled pretzels: These are one of my favorite snacks. I like the saltiness the pretzels bring to the trail mix. It gives it a nice sweet and salty vibe.
  • Mini peanut butter cups: You can find unwrapped, mini peanut butter cups in the candy aisle.
  • Reese’s pieces: Brings more peanut butter flavor and some texture to the mix with their crunchy exterior. Peanut butter M&M’s would also be a great sub here.
  • Chocolate and peanut butter cheerios: I love the peanut butter and chocolate combo. If you can’t find the cheerios, any other peanut butter cereal would be delicious. Think Reese’s Puffs or peanut butter Cap’n Crunch.
  • Salted peanuts: Trail mix needs nuts and salted peanuts make a great addition. The salt helps balance out the sweetness.
  • Peanut butter chips: They are super creamy and so delicious with the crunchy elements.
  • Chocolate chips: I like to use semi-sweet or dark chips to balance the sweetness.

This is a general guide but if you have more favorite peanut butter treats, feel free to add them to the mix.

Mix It Up

This is the easiest snack to make. Just throw it all in a bowl and toss it together.

Better yet, mix it in a container with a lid so you don’t have to even dirty up a bowl. Keep it in an airtight container or ziplock bag for up to a month.
