Ingredients for Easy Baked Penne

Here’s what you need for this simple dish:

  • Penne pasta: Or any other short cut pasta like shells, rigatoni, elbows.
  • Spaghetti sauce: Grab a big jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce for this recipe. I love a larger jar because we like things saucy around here.
  • Ricotta: I like to use full-fat ricotta to make it extra rich and creamy.
  • Egg: An egg added to the ricotta makes it smoother and richer.
  • Italian seasoning: Gets mixed into the ricotta mixture and sprinkled on top before baking for lots of added flavor. Use your favorite brand or make it homemade.
  • Shredded mozzarella: Grab a block or ball of mozzarella and shred it yourself for the best cheese pull and texture.
