It’s time to get festive. And what’s better than cute Christmas M&M’s throughout a soft, chewy peanut butter cookie.

These are not the traditional flat peanut butter cookies but more of a fluffy, chewy texture that’s changing the Christmas cookie game.

Ingredients for Peanut Butter M&M Cookies

  • Peanut butter: You’ll want to use the sugary stuff. No subbing in natural, organic peanut butter here. It will separate and make the texture super weird.
  • Butter: Unsalted and room temperature.
  • Brown sugar: Using all brown sugar lends a super chewy texture.
  • Egg
  • Vanilla extract
  • Milk: Thins out the dough, adds additional richness and makes sure the cookies aren’t dry.
  • All-purpose flour
  • Baking soda
  • Kosher salt
  • Christmas M&M’s: I used plain milk chocolate M&M’s but peanut butter or peanut M&Ms would be amazing too.

How to Make Peanut Butter M&M Cookies

These cookies only take a few minutes to mix up and bake. You’ll have cookies in less than 45 minutes from start to finish.

Cream the peanut butter and butter in the bowl of a stand mixer. You can also use a hand mixer or mix by hand in a bowl.

Cream well, until combined. Next, add the brown sugar and cream until light and fluffy. This will take 3 to 4 minutes. This is an important step as it breaks down the granules of sugar.

Add the egg and vanilla next and mix until combined. Dump the dry ingredients in the bowl and mix until it just comes together.

Stir in the M&Ms by hand. Use a cookie scoop to portion out onto a baking sheet. Leave two inches between each cookie.

Bake until just set. These cookies are best when they are soft and jusssst baked.

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

  1. I agree; peanut butter and chocolate is the best combo ever. Especially if it includes M&Ms. I’m with you on the planning for Christmas. Usually by now my list is made and color coded but since we’re moving I haven’t even thought about it yet. Yikes! Thanks for sharing on Crazy Sweet Tuesday. 🙂
