You all know how often I sing the praises of the Instant Pot but YOU GUYS. There might be a new favorite countertop appliance in town. The air fryer is super popular in my kitchen right now.

And these Air Fryer Meatballs are at the top of my list. They get so incredibly crispy on the exterior but stay so juicy inside.

Ingredients for Air Fryer Meatballs

These meatballs require the typical ingredients for any other meatball recipe.

You’ll need:

  • Ground beef
  • Egg
  • Bread crumbs
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Yellow mustard
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Kosher salt
  • Black pepper

I like using 85/15 ground beef for these meatballs. There is enough fat to keep them juicy but not so much that they are greasy. A lot of the grease will drip down to the bottom of the air fryer too.

If you’re doing the low carb or keto thing, you can substitute crushed pork rinds for the bread crumbs in these. Just make sure they are super fine then measure out the same amount as stated in the recipe below.

The mustard and Worcestershire sauce add lots of additional flavor and depth to the meatballs.

How to Make Air Fryer Meatballs

Grab all your ingredients and add them to a large bowl. Wash your hands and get to mixing. It’s really the best way to get meatball ingredients totally combined.

My favorite way to portion out meatballs is using my medium sized cookie scoop. It ensures all the meatballs are equal in size and cook evenly.

The meatballs are essentially seared on the outside by the air fryer which makes them super crispy and seals in all the juices, keeping them tender inside.

It’s super important not to crowd these meatballs so that they can get crispy all the way around. Make sure they aren’t touching and have a little space around each one.

All the Ways to Serve

You can eat these meatballs just as they are or toss them in your favorite sauce. Just be careful because if they sit in sauce for too long they’ll lose that delicious crispy exterior.

They are a great addition to your spaghetti or for meatball subs. I really loved dipping them in homemade jalapeno jelly.

Stick a toothpick in each one and serve on a platter at your next party with a variety of dipping options. Can you tell I love a dip?!

No matter how you serve them, they are sure to disappear fast.
